I have been fortunate enough to hunt all over North America and Africa. My two most meaningful hunts to date have been with Mont Mahoney and Alaska Dall Sheep Guides. In 2017 I harvested a 39" Alaskan Dall Sheep. And in 2019 I harvested an Arctic Grizzly Bear that squared nine feet with a 25-1/2" skull, easily making Boone and Crockett. These type hunt require tremendous planning and Logistics to move hunters and equipment. The Guides are the most experienced capable persons in the outdoor industry. I can truly say this hunt with Alaska dall sheep guides for grizzly was one of the best hunts I have ever been on. from start to finish Mont keep us informed. the logistics were on point. having Mont so close to provide support with his super cub was invaluable. the hunt itself was fantastic with our guide Austin Atkinson. we saw multiple large boars daily. I had the opportunity to hunt with Alaska Dall Sheep Guides/ Mont Mahoney, on an Alaskan grizzly bear hunt. This hunt turned out to be one of those once in a lifetime bucket list experiences. I flew from Anchorage to Kotzebue and met my young guide Austin. After locating five good bears the next day the plan was made and the stalk was on. The bear turned out to be a huge boar over 8 feet and I was thrilled with my trophy. What is so special about hunting with Mont and his guides is they are very capable and knowledgeable of the areas and the animals you are pursuing. Mont’s guides are young, energetic and pleasurable to be around, and their cooking is not bad either. The good thing about Mont is he is an excellent pilot and the airplane is always in your driveway no matter where that driveway may be. I would recommend Alaska Dahl Sheep Guides to anyone that is looking for an exceptional hunting experience.

When I hunt (and I hunt a lot), I give consideration to the trophy capabilities of an area, the quality of the outfitter and the quality of the guides. I have hunted with Mont Mahoney three times and each hunt has been successful. AS for the quality of the outfitter and the guides, I have become personal friends with Mont and all of the guides of Mont’s outfit that I have hunted with. I won’t hunt Dall Sheep with anyone else.
